Lease Manager at Fortifications Agency
The domain unit's mission is to manage forests and provide support to the relevant units of the Fortifications Agency regarding forest-related issues as well as the management of hunting, fishing, and agriculture. We are now looking for a Lease Manager who will be responsible for agricultural, hunting, and fishing management in central Sweden.
The Fortifications Agency is one of Sweden's largest property owners. We manage approximately 370,000 hectares of land, often with high biological diversity and significant natural values. More than half of the area is protected in some form, such as nature reserves and Natura 2000 areas.
Your daily life as a Lease Manager
The job involves you, in consultation with other Lease Managers, independently managing and developing the defense-adapted agricultural, hunting, and fishing management in central Sweden. You will have a lot of contact and close dialogue with, among others, the Armed Forces and the tenants in your daily work.
The position involves travel, primarily one- and few-day assignments to our service locations, lands, and properties. You will visit hunting, fishing, and agricultural rights in your area, which consists of approximately 150 hunting and fishing rights and about fifty agricultural leases.
The management includes, among other things, contract handling, negotiations, project management, administration, such as updates in our property support system, document management, as well as referral and investigation work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree, college degree, or equivalent in a relevant field such as land surveying, agronomy, forestry, or game management. You also have good environmental and nature conservation knowledge as well as good knowledge of land management issues. You speak and write fluently in Swedish and have basic knowledge of English in speech and writing. You have good IT skills, preferably within property systems and GIS (geographic information systems). A driver's license (B) is required as travel is part of the job.
In addition to the above, it is an advantage if you have certification in forestry and agriculture and/or education in wildlife management, hunting license, or similar. Knowledge of property and/or tenancy law, negotiation experience, and contract handling is also advantageous.
To be considered for the position, we see that you have several years of relevant work experience. It is advantageous if you have experience as a lease manager or land manager. Experience in the green sectors, public administration in the area, and knowledge of total defense operations is also advantageous.
Your personal qualities
Your personal qualities are important to us. We are looking for someone who is collaborative and can quickly adapt to find solutions that benefit everyone, focusing on the common goal. You are structured and work systematically through clear processes by carefully planning your work. You ensure that tasks are completed on time and according to deadlines. You are also relationship-building, take initiative in social contexts, and find it easy to create new and lasting relationships. Furthermore, you are stable, handle stress constructively, and maintain a good mood even in pressured situations.
What do we offer you?
Together with about 1200 colleagues at the Fortifications Agency across the country, you work with a unique property portfolio to strengthen total defense in Sweden. We are proud of the socially important mission we have where we build, manage, operate, and develop advanced technology in socially critical buildings. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require their competence. We work according to the state value framework and its principles, and we strive for an even gender distribution. Equal rights and opportunities are important to us.
Here you will have good opportunities for professional development and enjoy good benefits. We also work to ensure that you can have a good balance between work and leisure.
